Sometimes when in ‘bulk eating’ mode, a big salad does the trick.

This week’s GET JIGGY JigSaw Weight Loss Puzzle was inspired by a major-league, big-time, eat all you want salad that I whipped up and served up last night.

If you’re in need of a bulk meal, go crazy! Rip up an entire head of lettuce, slice up a few juicy tomatoes, get your cukes peeled and diced, as you pay homage to Our Lady of Green Leaves.

Eat green!

Spread the word … NOT the icing!

After spending some time drinking in the Tim Burton exhibit on a cellular level, Janice Taylor, your weight loss coach and artist, took a break and lighted on a lovely leather bench. i-Phone camera in hand, she quietly snapped an artist sketching a piece of work by another artist! She calls this 'work of art,' White Out: Artist to Artist to Artist. A creative loop of sorts. As for the difficulty of this get jiggy puzzle, its white background makes it a bit of a challenge to puzzle together. Enjoy!

It’s playtime at the Kick in the Tush Club!

This week, Janice Taylor, Weight Loss Artist, Coach – she who makes weight loss fun – offers up platters full of Pomegranate Hearts, Rosemary Capellini, Sage Advice and more!

_____________________

Get Jiggy JigSaw: “Pomegranate Hearts,” is inspired by St. Valentines Day. As you click through and put the pieces together, think about love … all types of love. Love for family, for friends and neighbors; the love and appreciation of the color of the sky, the cold air, the warm air, the fog, the rain; love the sound of the train choo-choo’in on by. Just love plain n’ simple. First and foremost, however, love thyself!

And then … whip up this fabulous dish …
Capellini Rosemary inspired by The Goddess of Love, Aphrodite!

Rosemary …

* when placed under your pillow it promotes pleasant dreams,
* when steeped in tea, it calms frayed nerves, and
* when the scent is present during certain amorous adventures, future hints of the heady bouquet will evoke a “Pavlovian call to love!” *Slightly thinner variation of recipe from “InterCourses: an aphrodisiac cookbook”

Rosemary, an aphrodisiac, can be found in early depictions of the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite, clutching or wearing a sprig of the fragrant herb.

BEGIN the love fest:
Start your evening with a hot soak in a bath scented with a few drops of rosemary essential oil will improve circulation to the skin and sensitivity to touch.

AND Then SERVE UP:
Capellini Rosemary a la Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, heavy on the aphrodisiacs

Ingredients:
6 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup chopped rosemary
1/2 cup chopped parsley
1/2 cup chopped chives
1 pound capellini
salt n’ pepper to taste

Instructions:
Heat garlic in olive in a skillet until nice n’ brown. * Stir in herbs and heat. * Cook the pasta until al dente. * Drain and toss with the herb mixture.

Spread the word … NOT the icing,

It's National Popcorn Day and rather than celebrating it by hitting the streets in search of a bucket or two of buttered caramel popcorn, I thought it the perfect opportunity to make a piece of Weight Loss Art™®!

It’s National Popcorn Day and rather than celebrating it by hitting the streets in search of a super-sized bucket or two of buttered caramel popcorn, this Weight Loss Artist ™® thought it the perfect opportunity to make a piece of Weight Loss Art™® !

A Weight Loss Artist™® is someone who makes art about food instead of eating it and, in the process, loses weight. I permanently removed over 50 pounds. (For the full skinny on how to permanently remove fat, keep your hands covered in glitter and make weight loss fun, be sure to pick up a copy of Our Lady of Weight Loss!!!)

Weight loss art is any form of art and/or craft that keeps your hands and mind busy creating rather than eating and, at the same time, the activity grounds you to your healthy lifestyle goals!

Certainly, a popcorn frame meets the criteria! Are you ready to pop some kernels and glue ‘em, and not eat ‘em?

Straight from the Our Lady of Weight Loss’ Craft Room
Pious Project: Popcorn Frame

Supplies:
popcorn
glitter glue
frame (small is good, with a flat few inches to work on)

Instructions:
pop your popcorn
let it cool.
put glitter glue on the frame
place popcorn on top of glue artistically

Note: I use glitter glue because it’s colorful, fun and pretty. And when a piece of popcorn shifts and there’s a little bit of the frame showing through it – well … glitters!

Angry? Don't know what to do with your feelings? How about canning them? Here's a craft project that's sure to help you 'can your anger!'

Angry? Don’t know what to do with your feelings? How about canning them? Here’s a craft project that’s sure to help you ‘can your anger!’

The “Can Your Anger” pious project!

I recycled an empty coffee container into my own version of a ‘miracle can’ and have named it “Can Your Anger.” I filled it with flowers, and it now serves as a silent prayer that all anger be transformed into love.

Here is a photo of my “Can Your Anger” Miracle Can with instructions for your to make your own!

Supplies:
White Gesso (primer) * 2 small Foam Brushes – 1/2 inch size (or any brush) * Paint (of any color of kind you have) * Craft Glue * Photograph of a figure that represents love, peace and tranquility * water * flowers

Instructions:
Paint your empty can with a coat of white gesso, which is the same thing as primer. It creates a “tooth” on your can, so that it will hold the paint (no flaking!). I use small foam brushes, because they are cheap and can easily be thrown out. (I appreciate fast clean up.) * After the primer dries, put on a layer of paint (acrylic is fine; or even house paint) – color of your choosing. * When dry, paste on picture that you resonate with. My picture is a combination of a sunflower and Our Lady of Weight Loss; a mighty that I put together. * Fill with water. * Add beautiful flowers. * Feel empowered!

You just created your first “Can Your Anger” Miracle Can!
And NOW … you are

Fully Baked,

When we speak in affirmations, such as "I am in control of my life, and I am committed to my goals, our unconscious hears the affirmation as a fact that is yet to be and it immediately seeks ways in which to manifest this new fact. Yes, your unconscious is taking your affirmation in as fact.

An affirmation is a form of auto-suggestion a.k.a. self-hypnosis, in which a statement is made about the future in the present tense, as if it had already happened in the past.

Yes, that’s right. Repeat, please … An affirmation is a statement about the future, made in the present, as if it had already happened in the past!

It is a statement or a desirable intention that you can deliberately meditate on, or repeat in order to embed in both your conscious and unconscious minds. It is a statement that transcends time and space.

Repetition opens the door to your unconscious mind. And your unconscious mind is much like a computer. Today, you are beginning to input the right program into your mind. Your programming is called the “I CAN.” Program and it is designed by YOU!

When we speak in ‘affirmations…’
“I am in control of my life, and I am committed to my goals.”

… our unconscious hears the affirmation as a fact that is yet to be and it immediately seeks ways in which to manifest this new fact. Yes, your unconscious is taking your affirmation in as fact.

You can ‘give yourself’ a positive affirmation to repeat as you settle into a calm and quiet place; or you can recite your affirmations throughout the day, while awake and alert. Perhaps while brushing your teeth, or walking, or you can even sing your affirmation in the shower. It works best to recite each affirmation five times.

Such a simple thing to do, isn’t it? With such wonderful results, as well!

And now, as YOU begin to create affirmations that work best for YOU, as you do know best, you can be very curious as to how your unconscious is going to find the right path to guide you to your goals. So often the goals are much closer than we imagine.

The most powerful way to use an affirmation is to say “I am” before that which you want to be, do or have. The words “I am” is your primary link to your identity. “I am” makes a very strong impression on your unconscious mind a.k.a. your inner computer. Be careful NOT to link any negative thoughts with the words <em>I am, I, me or mine.

Here follow a number of affirmations to get you started. If they resonate, ring true, sound good, feel right, give you chills or aHa moments, use them. If not, you can write your own affirmations with ease.

TRY ON these affirmations!
I am smiling.
I am happy and content – and so relaxed.
I love myself as I am.
I choose to be healthy.
My thoughts influence my body.
I choose to think positively about my body.
I now believe and I know that I control my weight.
My new reality includes my ideal weight and shape.
I am my happy weight.
I am happy to be alive!!!!!

And NOW for your AFFIRMATION CONTAINER.

Materials Needed:
one empty tin (Altoid containers are great!)
gesso (gives metal ‘tooth’ so paint and paper will stick to it, rather than peel off)
sponge brush, 1″
pretty paper, images
glue stick
faux fur tape, fringe, any decorative touches that delight your soul!
card stock (to write affirmations on)

Instructions:
pour a little gesso into any container * use sponge brush to ‘paint’ gesso onto container, all sides, everywhere * cut up pretty paper into all shapes and sizes, and with glue stick place onto container. * if you like, decorate with faux fur tape (just peel and stick) and/or fringe or ‘diamonds’ … truly anything that is fun for you!!!

Spread the AFFIRMATION … NOT the icing,
Janice

———————————————————————————–
